As the new year approaches, we wanted to celebrate the highlights of the one about to pass.
It’s been a big year here at San Juan Live. Our traffic has doubled compared to the previous year, we’ve added hundreds of new subscribers to our email lists, we launched the San Juan Live Real Estate Marketplace, completely overhauled our learning centers, and hosted our first funding flash mob to support local non-profits.
We also published a wide range of content to help our readers get the most out of San Juan del Sur and Nicaragua. We feel fortunate that so many people are turning to us to learn about the experiences and lifestyles on offer in this sunny part of the world.
And so, without further ado, here are our favorite posts of 2015:

It’s hard to narrow down a list so this is admittedly subjective. But we hope you enjoy reading (or re-reading) these as much as we enjoyed putting them together.
We started the year with a reader’s poll to find out what our readers and subscribers think are the best places to eat, drink and have some fun in San Juan del Sur. The results were so interesting that we compiled them into an infographic.
Brooke reflects on what constitutes a healthy life in San Juan del Sur. Packed full of insight and brimming with honesty, her words resonated with our community attracting a bunch of comments.
One of several video interviews we published in 2015. This one – with Will Pattinson from Grupo Max – answers the most frequently asked questions people have about home building in Nicaragua. We received a ton of positive feedback for the video format and have more video interviews planned for 2016.
We know from talking to local hotel owners that the number of weddings held in Nicaragua is on the rise. So the timing felt right for this post which explores the reasons behind the trend. If you’re getting married, it may convince you to tie the knot in Nicaragua.
The post explores the successive waves of investors who have landed in San Juan del Sur hunting for property deals.
